The March 2021 Nyack Library Armchair Tour, co-sponsored by The Historical Society of the Nyacks, featured Village of Nyack historian JP Schutz and John Green Preservation Coalition President Win Perry and was moderated by Historical Society of the Nyacks Trustee, Bill Batson. JP Schutz told the story of Nyack citizen John Green, builder of one of Nyack’s oldest homes that the John Green Preservation Coalition saved from destruction. Green’s impact endures from his role in many transformative projects that have shaped Nyack to this day. His legacy is complicated by the economic benefits reaped from the labor of enslaved Africans. Q & A followed. Coalition President Win Perry participated in the discussion following the talk.
